That is highly unlikely. This would constitute a previously unknown model difference, (v9.5 ?), which someone should have discovered earlier, as it would be bound to affect some other software too.

Even so, it is very strange that others with the same console model have different results.
The only thing I can think of that would have this effect, so that it makes no difference how you patch the elf with regard to the options that should modify the tray usage, is if your base HDL elf (the one to which you apply the patches) is in fact already patched...
Then it would have no effect whether you include or leave out the "/S" patch option, if that patch has already been applied to the elf you regard as clean and unpatched.
Perhaps frozen9999 could post the elf he uses, so that you can try exactly the same elf that works fine for his v9. If the problem still persists then we have a real puzzler
