Couldn't yell you since you provided next to nothing on details.
*Yes I know you have a v12/13.
*Don't know what mod chip. If it's a crystal chip, redownload the installer and reinstall it as there is a fix now that will work on some mod chips.
*For what reason you listed ESR is beyond me since you're not even using it because of your chip
*I''ve got some more but after this point I can easily be perceived as rude. But you get the idea.
Please keep in mind that we can not read minds and must have details to make a decent guess at a solution to your problem.

I hope you don't mind me asking but... Why use FMCB if you have a chip??? BTW ESR patched games also boot directly with a modchip (at least with magic 3.xx)...

Maybe because of all the extra-stuff, FMCB provides?
You missed the point, that FMCB itself is not responsible, for playing Backups.
But I agree in your question, if it was related to ESR.
...but even than... Some Chips might not work with some games and they probably still can play it through ESR.
(Assume a Slim V14, with a crappy chip. No HD and the games, or applications like USB-Advance, which won't play with this chip,... With turned off chip and FMCB [nearly] all remains possible,...)
FMCB is a very good enhancement for old chips (if compatible), which e.g. do not have any DEV.-Mode, for those who want to have Fastboot for all Media (is there a chip, which support it for all?), hacked OSD.
I still think, we will see Browser 2.0, or BB.Navi running, due to this project.
Browser 2.0 is even more important yet, than BB.Navi (at least for me).
FMCB could provide extra-features to every PS2, with which it is compatible.

Does the Logo even show up?
What happens, if you disable your chip?
What happens, if you start your PS2 like you would when you're starting PS1-Games/Backups.

nope, the logo doesn't show up, it goes directly to usual ps2 browser....but when i try fmcb 1.6 the logo show up but after that the screens become black.....
i don't know to disable my modchip so i don't know what happen and I won't do that, it seems risky....
i can play backup games like usual nothing changes......
note: i configure fmcb with fmcb configurator and change some default setting...

Maybe it is not properly installed. Do/Did you ensure it?

So,... If it isn't compatible yet with fmcb, there might be a way, to fix it... (think so)

I heard that it has the feature, to disable itself.
I didn't look at it yet, but will do a fast research.
That is o.k.
Why? Is it a clone, or does it brick while using the "disable"-feature?

The configurator works, regardless if FMCB is installed, or not.
It changes the settings in the CNF-File (which will also be created, if not present. <- ?! )

Well,... It does! It just doesn't work with all chip (all chips probably is never possible, but a high rate).

You ca try it.
I didn't heard anything "harmful", that might happen to your chip due to this,...

Hmm, i have a similar problem to seksonh's. I have installed the FMCB v1.7 into my MC having a modded console. Though, FMCB works as expected providing that I do not use it to play games . Splash screen works and then the FMCB menu is loaded. I can access everything in FMCB. When I try to load games, the following happens. The splash screen of FMCB shows, after that I see the PS2 loading screen and then, Please Insert PS2 Disk. Sometimes, it gets stuck at the splash screen too. Though, one out of (about) 7 tries, FMCB displays loading and then the game is loaded, 8-|. I'm so amazed. I tried tuning FMCB configurations. The same happens. If there is any possible fix, I will be more than glad. For now the only solution is to unplug the MC before loading the game. After that, plug it back in, when the game is loaded. I do not know which modchip I have, but it does not display any splash screens. One last thing. Before trying FMCB, I tried the auto-boot feature of every (i think) available modchip, but with no use.
I hope somebody provide a fix to this behaviour. I think the fix should be easy since FMCB is able to load the game, eventually.
