NeoCD tutorial for Swap Magic

I looked around and didn't see a good tutorial on how to get this to work with unmodded consoles that only use Swap Magic, so here we go.

--------Tools Needed---------
PS2
Swap Magic CD (I have ver 3.6)
NERO
winrar
NeoCd bios (google for it)

When you get a Neo Cd game off the net it usually looks like this. (Iso and a bunch of Mp3 files)

So what you want to do is create a folder called "CD."

Now, in the game you just downloaded get the .ISO and use winrar to open the ISO, and you'll see a bunch of files like this.

Copy and Paste all these files to your CD folder. Then copy and paste the Mp3 files and put them at the bottom of the iso's files. Try to make sure everyting gets copied in the same order.

Now to the burning.
Open Nero and select FILE -> NEW. You want Cd-Rom (Iso) and no Multisession.

On this ISO tab you want:
File name: Max 31 charc
Format: Mode 2
Character set:iso 9660

Skip the Label and Dates tabs an go to MISC tab and make sure it looks like the following.

And on the Burn tab make it look like this. And click on "NEW"

Next open up the emulator pack and put the following files in this order:

Now burn the file (it is the icon with the Lit Match and CD) and use your swap magic cd to load as you would any other back-up!!

Hope this helps for all you Swap Magic users, and let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi, nice one, thank you very much !

just one remark, the CD folder was intended to be used only when loading the emu from host.. although it works also from CD, you can put all the files at the root level.

thank you again, and sticked !

If you have modded ps2 you should have no problem playing these. I think a few of the other sticky's explain how. Or just burn the cd like stated here and it should boot.

Sorry, at this time only one game per CD/DVD

Yes, you can burn them to DVD, in nero it woul be ISOUDF->No Multisession->ISO Level 1, 8+3=11->ISO 9660.

It's not really worth it to burn on a DVD because most games are less than 200 MB.

It would help if you would tell people they need to find the Neo Geo Bios on their own. You might want to add that to the "what you need" list. Also, I tried this method with Metal Slug 2 and for some reason the game didn't have any sound? I had the extraced ISO and MP3 and a cue file in the CD folder...is there something else I should be doing?

If your using Swap Magic you are not going to get the games music. You should get the sound FX though.

here is a thread that explains why.
