ULE freezes when trying to access my pendrive
But just randomly, not always.
It's a Kingston Data Traveler 2gb
Some emulators (PGEN and SNES) also freeze when trying to load roms from this pendrive too.
Other emulators (FCEU and PSMS) load roms from it without problems...
Any idea on why does this happen?

No detailed info, but we do know that Kingston drives always have been a problem different from all others. Apparently they use some protocol methods which are valid but uncommon among other brands.
At the main program level of uLE there is nothing we can do about this, except hope that Herben (or anyone really) improves his "usbhdfsd.irx" driver, which is the best one currently available.
Best regards: dlanor

Same happen here edea86.
All I do to avoid this crash is.. when you start ule, quickly point it to the pendrive. (don't browse hdd, mc, etc.. )
Usually helps.
I'm using a kingston datatraveler 4gb... brand new.
Oh, and while I'm here.. thank you again for uLaunch dlanor and ep!

slicer74: yes, fat32 formatted.
The older, smaller kingston pendrive works fine... (datatraveler, 256mb)

As the speed of the PS2 is 1.1, it can be very long to access a 2/4 GB pendrive.

No no slicer.. it's just a second to read the pendrive fat. dlanor is right. It's something with kingston drives.. my 8gb samsung pen drive works flawles.. and it's a second to show up the contents on ule.
There's nothing wrong with uLe for this matter.

Yeh its seems Pgen, Snestation have problems with this thumb drive. SMS works fine mp3s, avi videoes work fine. Overall not a bad deal for a 10 dollar 2 gig usb flash drive

As for the pgen and snesstation part. I have a pgen with updated usb modules (and methods), as well as snesstation new patch (alphabetical sorting, updated modules, methods, new reset procedure, more realiable hdd support, few other things I don't remember right now - let me know if you need it).

Hello, I'm just interested in this new SNES-Station patch, till ragnarok2040 will release his SNES9x port, I would love to try that out.
Thanks in advance.

That's not exactly what I meant.
I made these few changes ~6months ago as a response to a request on some of the polish forums (regarding mostly usb compatibility).
Anyway. I've attached updated pgen and snesstation. The changes are:
pgen 1.51
- changed old usbmass and usbd modules to new usbd and usbhdfsd. Changed direct mass RPC calls into filexio calls (it could be fio as well, but filexio RPC server thread on iop has bigger stack size, which is a saver with some usb devices).
- modified iopreset procedure to not stall in few cases.
- maybe something else, but it was done half a year ago... I simply don't remember anything else.
snesstation 2.4
- changed old usbmass and usbd modules to new usbd and usbhdfsd. Changed direct mass RPC calls into filexio calls.
- imporved stability of hdd access
- modified iopreset procedure to not stall in few cases.
- added proper file extension masking (as it was desinged by author and as it works for cdrom... for some reason it wasn't implemented for other devices).
- directories are displayed first and proper icon is diaplayed, then rom files.
- I'm sure I have a version that also does proper alphabetical filename sorting for all devices, but I couldn't find it in my backups (so proper sorting will work only for cdrom).
Not a biggie, but should solve some problems with hdd and especially usb devices compatibility.

Hi Folks. I recently purchased the 4 GB Kingston Datatraveler and unfortunately it is not detected by any homebrew programs such as ULE, SMS, PGEN, Snestation etc.

In the new ULe 4.13 seems to work better on my 2gb usb, but still freezes on mi 4gb kingston,
to fix this go to SMS hompage and download the usb irx moudles and configure ULE 4.13 with this drivers.
Still with these drivers on my V15, there is a bug that tends to make slow my PS2 until I turn off the driver.
